November 2011

Ok.  I have been bad.  I am going to attempt to get caught up with my blog posts.  Here are some moments from November 2011.  In late November, I was just working a few days a week.  Evan and I saw Baby Stella's first smile on November 16 when she woke up in her crib (I am pretty sure she had smiled at Geoff previously, but he didn't have the heart to tell me).  Mommy and Daddy were tired this month, but thankful for our precious family.

Baby Stella is about 4 weeks old here.

Work in progress.  Evan's swingset had more lights than many people's houses.

Stella!

Finally, Stella has arrived! I had finally agreed to be induced on Wednesday 12th, although I really wanted her to come naturally. Geoff and I had tried everything from riding on the levee to eating hot tamales to try to encourage her to make her debut. Then....at 11:00 PM on October 2 (one week past her due date), I started to have contractions. I wanted to stay home as long as possible, but we soon realized that we needed to get to the hospital in a hurry! The contractions were coming one after another so I called Geoff to come get me quick (he had run up to the office to finish a few things). We dropped Evan off and Meme's and rushed to Greenville. Geoff dropped me off at the front door, which was unfortunately locked, so we had to drive around to the ER entrance. It seemed like forever before I was up on the floor and getting evaluated by the nurses. Nobody seemed to take me seriously since I had only been in labor about 2 hours, but then they found out I was dilated to 8-9 centemeters and things started happening very quickly. They rushed me to a room and before I knew it, we were meeting our precious baby girl. Stella was born on October 3, 2011 at 2:23 AM weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces.
Evan has been great with Stella so far. He wasn't too sure of her at first, but she brought him a toy bulldozer home from the hospital and then he knew she was on his side. He is very attentive. He will run and let us know if she is crying. He pushes her in her swing and gives her her "ba-ba" if he thinks she needs it. Every morning he asks to "play with baby on floor". First family outing at Fall Fest.

Happy Halloween!
Geoff and I were brave enough to travel to Little Rock for the day with both the kids. We are enjoying some chick-fil-a in the park here.
